The article examines the evolution of the concept of stress caused by technological factors permeating all spheres of everyday life: from “technostress” and “information stress” to the modern concept of “digital stress.” The analysis identifies key components of digital stress (FoMO, online vigilance, telepressure, cyberbullying) and their specific impact on the adolescent audience. It is shown that the consequence of digital stress is the dysregulation of neurobiological mechanisms (the cortisol axis and dopamine system), which forms the basis for the development of “digital fatigue” and an increased risk of depressive and anxiety disorders. Thus, digital stress is a systemic phenomenon that requires the development of digital hygiene measures and adapted psychoprophylactic approaches.
